Holness. Twelve persons described her as young, cute, ‘down to earth’ and honest. Eight persons
described Juliet as ‘down to earth’, and nice. Mrs. Duncan-Price’s dominance becomes more
pronounced in the area of the details and clarity of her plans for the constituency, with focus on
education support, infrastructure and support for farmers. Although 7 persons spoke of the plans of
Mrs. Holness, 5 were not very certain about the details. They gave sketchy information such as “Nice
plans like fix the roads.” The respondents who spoke of Duncan-Price’s plans connected them to
Crawford’s. They described them as “continuation of Damion’s thing with some expansion into areas
that benefit us the farmers.” They had names for aspects of the programmes such as ‘Education support
fund.” Finally, unlike Duncan-Price who had no negatives to distract from her force, Mrs. Holness carried
the weight of being the “Wife of the Leader of the Opposition with the House problem (5 persons).” The
research team also found 2 Rastafarians who were also not impressed with her initials (J-A-H) advertised
on billboards throughout their communities.
