Gregg could not readily state what were her expectations from her candidate of choice, Omar Henry, if he won.

"Me just have to see wen dem win," she said.

The People's National Party's Uphel Purcell won the York Town division in the last local government elections in 2016.

He had been the councillor since 1998 but was recently expelled by the party and is running as an independent candidate.

Anthony Davis is representing the PNP.

Meanwhile, voting in the York Town and Mineral Heights divisions has been slow.

No long lines were observed at several polling stations.

The outdoor agents who spoke to The Gleaner admitted that voting was slow, but noted that the turnout is usually slow in the morning.
