Two independent candidates win

By:

Independent candidate Paul Patmore has defied the odds to be elected councillor for the Lorrimers Division in Southern Trelawny.

Patmore was expelled from the Jamaica Labour Party after he was nominated as an independent candidate on March 5.

He polled 857 votes to the 369 by the JLP’s Steve Warren and Kevin Guy (PNP) 126.

In Hanover, independent candidate for the Riverside Division Lester Crooks received 1,084 votes to Albert Lee’s (JLP) 683 votes.

Riverside was the only division for which the PNP did not nominate a candidate on March 5.

It is expected that Crooks will join the PNP in the first meeting of the Hanover Parish Council.
