Local gov’t debate this Thursday

The main political parties are to square off in the first ever political debate for the local government elections.

The 90-minute debate is scheduled for this Thursday beginning at 9 p.m.

The debate will see a three-member team format between the Jamaica Labour Party and the People’s National Party and will focus on the vision of the two main politics parties for local government.

Vice Chairman of the National Debates Commission, Noel DaCosta, said the debate is intended to raise awareness about local government issues.

The debates will take a team format with three members from each party fielding question from a panel.

The debates will be broadcast on radio and television.

The local government election is to be held Next Monday March 26.
