Our objectives in this domain are the following:
Children’s successful outcomes require a shared vision, sound
policy based on best practices, and a framework for planning
programmes that are connected to the ways students learn best.
We will build on the successes of the institutions created by
the JLP during its last administration, such as the National
Education Inspectorate (NEI), the Jamaica Teaching Council
(JTC), the National Education Trust (NET), the National College
of Educational Leadership (NCEL), and the National Parenting
Support Commission (NPSC)-(Policy and Strategy). We will
also strengthen programmes such as the Alternative Secondary
Education Programme (ASTEP) and Career Advancement
Programme (CAP) with a view to supporting more effective
transitions from primary to secondary school, and to keeping at-
risk youth within the education system.
