Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness gifted his '1PM' sweatshirt to veteran entertainer Mr Vegas during a Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) mass rally in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Sunday.

The gesture came after the entertainer, born Clifford Smith, was about to leave the stage after a brief performance before thousands of JLP supporters.

Smith has been an outspoken supporter of the JLP.

“A don’t want anybody attack Vegas for the sweatshirt,” joked JLP deputy leader Desmond McKenzie.

Several party supporters seemingly tried to score the sweatshirt which the prime minister wore when he joined other JLP figures on the platform.

But Holness smiled and folded the sweatshirt he debuted at another JLP mass rally in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew, on August 10.

At last week's mass rally in Sam Sharpe Square, Holness threw one of the shirts into the crowd and it was quickly claimed by a female JLP supporter.
