Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton has declared that there will be no exception in the treatment of people who breach the Disaster Risk Management Act.
He was responding to a question as to whether the Health Ministry will report Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) member Dr Ryan Simpson to the police for allegedly breaching quarantine orders following his recent overseas travel.
Following the reported breach, the JLP struck Dr Simpson from its roll of standard bearers replacing him with educator Delroy Granston in St Ann South Eastern.
“We are committed to pursuing anyone, any individual who breaches the orders that are out there,” said Tufton.
However, he said he could not speak to the case of Simpson because he was not aware of it.
At the same time, Tufton said the Prime Minister has given a clear mandate in respect of holding people accountable for the actions.
