Integrity Group Asks Holness To Answer Critical Questions

Executive director of National Integrity Action (NIA) professor Trevor Munroe has written to Opposition Leader Andrew Holness urging him to disclose particulars about his assets amid serious questions being raised by the ruling People’s National Party (PNP).

Professor Munroe noted in the letter that Mr Holness’ assets, including his Beverly Hills house, are matters for the Integrity Commission established by the Parliament (Integrity of Members) Act.

He notes that the relevant annual reports of the Integrity Commission for 2011, 2012 and 2013 have been filed by the Commission with the Prime Minister who should have laid them in parliament.

But he notes that these reports had not been sent to Parliament before it was dissolved but have been stuck in the Office of the Prime Minister due to a failure of administration.

He says as a result, the Parliament, the media and by extension the public have been unable to exercise their right to review these reports.

However, Munroe is urging Mr Holness to answer certain critical questions which he says would have been contained in the yet to be released reports.

He wants Holness to say whether any of his statutory declarations for 2011, 2012 or 2013 are outstanding.

Munroe also wants Holness to say whether he failed to reply to subsequent queries by the Integrity Commission in relation to declarations for any of the years in question or if he has been required to attend an enquiry into any of the submitted statutory declarations.

In addition, he says Holness must say whether his name has been submitted by the Commission to the Director of Public Prosecutions or the Commissioner of Police in relation to any of his declarations.
