#JaVotes2016: If You Live In A Glass House Don't Throw Stones, Holness Warns

Declaring that he would not be distracted by criticisms over his Beverly Hills mansion, Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) leader Andrew Holness on Sunday night sounded a warning to his critics.

"If you live in a glass house don't throw stones," Holness said, drawing on the words of late reggae artiste, Peter Tosh.

Holness has been under increased pressure in the past weeks to reveal the source of funding for his house.

"I am an unstoppable train and that is why they are coming with their nastiness," said Holness at a JLP mass meeting in Gregory Park, East Central St Catherine.

In addition to publishing an advertisement raising questions about Holness' house, the PNP has withdrawn from the political debate demanding that Holness first answer the questions.

But Holness appears unfazed, saying his back is broad and his heart clean.

"We have seen this play book before," he said.

"They trying to demonize JLP leaders.

"I am the future, but you see the depth, the vitriol and the nastiness to which they will descend to gain power?" he questioned.

"They are from a time when their relevance was dependent on political power. Like you, I am from a different time, to move from poverty to prosperity."

Stressing that he would not be drawn to the low level of the PNP, Holness emphasized that he was focused on the 10-point plan introduced by his party.

"Look at the so-called economic genius (he) can't even come with a two-point plan," Holness said of Finance Minister, Dr Peter Phillips who has sought to shred the 10-point plan.
