An atmosphere of jubilation prevailed outside the People's National Party (PNP) constituency office of incumbent Member of Parliament Ronald Thwaites in Central Kingston just after 9 o'clock this morning.
Upon entering the compound, our team saw Thwaites hugging, kissing and embracing supporters; pausing to hold a toddler and dancing to the pulsating rhythms blasting from the sound system inside.
Shouts of, "PNP to the world", "No more green" and "Orange country" spewed from the mouths of onlookers.
Thwaites urged the crowd to walk side by side, without blocking traffic, with him to be nominated.
Nobody obeyed.
He was joined by his wife, Marcia and son Daniel.
