A People's National Party (PNP) supporter from East Rural St Andrew left Half-Way Tree square in an ambulance after her right knee was dislocated.

The young woman, who was heard being referred to by her friends as Monique, was obviously in pain as her right knee was being strapped after which persons had to lift her into the waiting ambulance.

According to one eyewitness, Monique was injured after she slipped from a light stand on which she had climbed to get a better view of the stage from where PNP president Portia Simpson Miller is tonight expected to announce the date of the next general election.

Her foot reportedly got stuck in a metal railing and during her efforts to pull it free, she was injured.
