Two persons from Hugo Buchanan's constituency of South Western St Elizabeth were seen feverishly scratching off the green from the Jamaican flags on their vuvuzelas as they awaited the start of the People's National Party Mass meeting in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew, Sunday evening.

"I saw a councillor in Montego Bay did it and I endorsed it," Henry Gayle told The Gleaner.

"If JLP were builders of this nation they could have their colour on the flag, but they are not builders of this nation, so they don't deserve to have their colour in the flag."

Simone Newman's explanation for scratching the green off the flag was much simpler.

"Mi nuh inna nutten wid no Labourite. Nothing at all. All them do is help down the country," Newman said.
