Who Touched Portia?

As Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller gets ready to announce the date for general election a few hours from now, Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Member of Parliament Daryl Vaz has raised questions about who touched her.

Simpson Miller put the brakes on election campaigning last year when she indicated that she would not announce a date for general elections until she was touched by her master.

But with the People’s National Party (PNP) again cranking up its election machinery, Vaz questioned whether it was coincidence that this was happening the same time the latest opinion poll show that the PNP enjoy a four percentage point advantage among the electorate.

“Whatever touch it was came the same time as the polls. The poll was published one day and by the next day all of a sudden the prime minister said she was touched. What a coincidence?” Vaz told JLP supporters during a meeting of the party’s Area Council One in St Andrew today.

“We must ask ourselves whether it was Don Anderson that touched her or it was the true master, God almighty, that touched her?” he questioned.
