Political analyst, Dr Paul Ashley, says Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller should use the delay in announcing an election date this year to begin drafting legislation for a fix election date.
Ashley is of the view that this is the right opportunity for Simpson Miller to do so.
He says a fixed election date would remove uncertainty in the country.
Ashley further argues that the legislation would remove the calling of elections from the whim and fancy of a Prime Minister.
