The Jamaica Labour Party has declared Dr Christopher Tufton as the new standard-bearer for West Central St Catherine.
He replaces Devon Wint who was asked to resign more than a week ago amid certain allegations against him.

In a statement this morning, the JLP said deputy leader James Robertson and Area Council Chairman Everald Warmington have been charged with the responsibility for meeting with constituents to ensure a smooth transition.
Several people in West Central St Catherine have been protesting against the insertion of Tufton insisting that they wanted Wint.
Earlier this year, Tufton lost an internal election to Wint by 15 votes.
A former agriculture and fisheries minister, Tufton narrowly lost his South West St Elizabeth seat in the 2011 election to the People's National Party's Hugh Buchanan.
