The Director of Elections, Orrette Fisher is reporting that the People's National Party (PNP's) Winston Green has won the St Mary South East seat following the official count that ended late Saturday evening.

Fisher said at the end of the count, Green was ahead by nine votes.

This would change the balance of power to 32 seats for the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and 31 for the PNP.

Asked whether there was any indication that the JLP might seek a magisterial recount, Fisher said that decision was entirely the prerogative of the JLP.

Following the preliminary count on Thursday, the JLP's Norman Dunn was declared the winner of the St Mary South East seat after polling 7,311 to Green's 7,184.
