‘I don’t See Malahoo-Forte, but I’m still voting’

Selvin Bingham was resolute that even though he has never seen Jamaica Labour Party St. James West Central candidate, Marlene Malahoo-Forte, he was voting for her.

Pledging his support for the candidate, Bingham said it didn’t matter that she has scarcely been seen in the Mount Salem community where he resides.

The 44-year-old man admitted to The Gleaner outside his home at Francis Isabella Road that Malahoo-Forte will have a hard fight against her opponent the People’s National Party’s Sharon Ffolkes-Abrahams.

“The lady I vote for have a hard fight because some of the people them don’t see her,” said the retired plumber who is also called ‘Rat’.

However, Bingham maintained that his party will be the definite winner not only in the constituency but throughout the island.

“I know that she a go fight and win it. She have the whole a Bogue, Moy Hall, Catherine Hall and the other areas too. So we sure say labourite a go win and me nuh mean just win suh, but win the Prime Minister seat,” Bingham predicted.

He said he was born into a ‘PNP family’ but when he became eligible to vote he changed party and influenced his entire family to follow suit.
“All my friends are PNP, but me a die-hearted labourite and nobody can tell me fi change. If a the last breath me affi blow and go vote, me a vote JLP,” he added.
