The Jamaica Labour Party says there was a violent confrontation in it's leader Andrew Holness' St Andrew West constituency yesterday.

The party says a gun was pulled on JLP Councillor Delroy Williams in Olympic Gardens by a member of a People's National Party motorcade which was passing through the community Tuesday afternoon.

It says a police report has been filed at the Olympic Gardens Police Station.

The JLP says it is shocked that the PNP would sink so low as to resort to violence and intimidation.

It says this violent confrontation is an insult to Jamaicans and the country's democracy.

The party also says the actions must be a direct result of the PNP's realisation that people are rejecting their failed policies.

It says the PNP would rather intimidate persons than debate and Jamaica deserves better.

The JLP also reiterated its call for a free and fair election that's free from violence.
