Attorney at Law was born in Brown's Town in the parish of St. Ann. He attended York Castle High School in Brown's Town. After leaving school he worked as an assistant clerk of the courts in the parishes of St. Ann and St. Mary.
In 1970 he entered the Honourable society of Lincoln's Inn, London, England. In 1973 he graduated as a Barrister at Law.
Mr. Smith returned to Jamaica in 1973 and was assigned to the office of the chief Parliamentary counsel as an assistant Parliamentary Counsel.
He was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship. In 1976 he entered the field of the private practice of law. In 1987 he established the law firm of Ernest Smith & Company with offices in Brown's Town and Kingston. He is married with five (5) children. |
